Atari turns focus to "premium gambling" equally information technology moves away from free-to-play titles

Atari is turn its focus back to "premium games" Eastern Samoa information technology moves to divest itself from many of its current free-to-play efforts.

The company proclaimed the convert to its scheme in a recent press release, framing the motility as a pivot back out toward Atari's long history in the games diligence - and a way to establish out the catalog for its have Atari VCS console table, which started rolling out en masse in June after a successful crowdfunding campaign in English hawthorn 2018.

"Our attentive with any gaming have is to provide accessible and joyful moments of meaningful play,"  Atari CEO Wade J. Rosen said in the press handout. The company says it will "leverage its catalogue of 200 trademarked games" to shuffling premium titles across each platforms; the first such projects are in growth now, with initial releases planned to arrive by the end of Atari's 2021/2022 fiscal year connected March 31, 2022. Atari's catalog includes a number of games from the classic Atari days, besides every bit titles from old French publisher Infogrames, which bought the Atari brand from Hasbro back in 2000.

Atari's most eminent free-to-play games will continue, but the company plans to either deal out off or shut down quintet others: RCT Stories, Crystal Castles, Castles & Catapults, Ninja Golf, and Atari Combat: Tank Fury.
